New appointment at BDHF

21 Mar 2005

The UK dental charity the British Dental Health Foundation has announced that it has created a new post to help with its fundraising efforts.

Simon Howell, who has extensive sales and marketing experience in dentistry, has been appointed as Director of Campaigns and Fundraising to help the Foundation to meet the growing demand on its charitable services.
Simon has been UK Sales Manager at Smile-On Ltd for the last four years and, prior to that, was UK Sales Manger for Tandon Computers.
Responsible for running existing and new campaigns for the BDHF, Simon will also look to increase the charity's income through increased activity, both in direct and indirect fundraising from all market sectors.
Chief executive of the Foundation, Dr Nigel Carter, said: "We are delighted to welcome Simon to the Foundation.
"It has been an excellent year and we have seen increased demand from the public for all our services. However, as an entirely self-funded charity we have had to react in order to meet this demand and have done so with the creation of a new position. We are already confident that Simon can help us to move forward, allowing us to provide free and impartial oral health information to more people than ever before."
The BDHF runs public health information schemes such as the free Dental Helpline. The charity also runs national awareness campaigns such as National Smile Week (May 15-21) and Mouth Cancer Awareness Week (November 13-19).
Mr Howell is married and lives in Oxfordshire with his wife and son.
