Unique CPD course benefits Dentaid

14 Oct 2004

A unique event this November will combine two aspects of dentistry not normally associated with one another – CPD and the oral health of the world’s poor.

A one-day training course that directly benefits oral health in the developing world is the unusual but simple concept, organised by Dentaid, and sponsored by Kodak Dental Systems (formerly PracticeWorks).

Dr Martin Kelleher, consultant in Restorative Dentistry at GKT Dental Institute of King’s College, London, will present a problem-solving course on the clinical management of many of the tricky cases found in general dental practice. Topics covered include the worn dentition, restorative tips for the aesthetically challenged, soft contouring, bleaching, and risk analysis of veneers amongst others. Practical treatment planning and tips as to how to stay out of trouble will be covered. Participants will be invited to bring their own models, radiographs and photos of difficult cases.

The venue is the Southampton Hilton, J5 M27, on Saturday November 27 from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. The course costs £195 per person and qualifies for five hours verifiable CPD. There will be a three-course lunch included as well as coffee and tea throughout the day.

Martin is kindly giving his time for free. All profits from the course will go to Dentaid’s work improving oral health in the developing world.

Dentaid’s Mark Topley commented:
"This event is a great example of a win – win for everyone. Delegates will attend a fantastic day’s CPD with a very popular speaker, and Dentaid will benefit to the tune of several thousand pounds! We hope that the day will prove popular, and that through it we can advance some new programmes that will make a big difference in the developing world."

To register for the course, please send your name(s), address and cheque for £195 per person (made payable to Dentaid,) to Dentaid CPD, Giles Lane, Landford, Salisbury, Wilts SP5 2BG. Places are limited so please apply early to avoid disappointment. For further details call 01794 324249.
